From New York With Love – Things that have inspired me in New York.

Be Inspired

I have been in New York now for six days and I am having a really great time. I’ve stayed in Brooklyn and Staten Island and I’ve taken the train by myself and gone to places I haven’t been to before. Shopping on 34th and in New Jersey are things I have done in the past but the last time I was in New York was 2003 and things have really changed. I won’t go into detail on the what and how but what I will do is talk about a few things that have really inspired me here.

The first is a new fashion house called Yemeecee by Adura. The owner is a lady who has so much talent and the ability to take any fabric and create amazing clothes that had me stunned when I saw them. Her creations are not only elegant they are comfortable and very eye-catching. She can make any design and has the ability to blend traditional African and English styles resulting in very glamorous outfits – see an example of one below. I was so blown away by her creations that I commissioned her to design some outfits for me. I haven’t come across anything like her designs in London and intend wear my outfits there and make some fashion waves, so watch out London I will soon be back and wearing Yemeecee by Adura.

The second is this amazing cake company called Sa-Shelle where they don’t only make wonderful cakes they also decorate them to specification. Two sisters work together to produce cakes like the one below. These are not just your average layers of sponge cake these are layers of fruit cake, red velvet cake or blue velvet cake and sponge cake (you get to choose the combination you want). The cake is then decorated to specification in the elegant manner seen below. George Brown College Toronto pastry chef training and Bonnie Gordon College cake design training as well as a natural gift of creativity help to produce cakes like the one in this picture.

Yemeecee by Adura and Sa-Shelle have inspired me in New York. They have both shown me that hard work and perseverance produces results. So I and everyone at GLL Publishing want to Inspire everyone who has a dream, never give up on your dream, work hard, persevere and you will succeed. If in doubt look at the pictures above, these people had dreams and worked hard to fulfil them.
